Midwifery Education Trends Report 2013

KEY FINDINGS


  • The number of annual new CNMs/CMs increased 48% since 2008, from 320 to 474.

  • The number of applications from qualified applicants increased 26% to a high of 1625 qualified applications in 2012.

  • The number of available spaces for students has consistently increased, from 782 in 2008 to 923 in 2012.

  • The number of unfilled available spaces for midwifery students decreased from 325 in 2008 to 116 in 2012.
