ACNM devotes considerable resources to working on federal legislative initiatives before the US House of Representatives and the US Senate. In December 2010, the ACNM Board of Directors adopted an aggressive federal policy agenda for the 112th Congress.

Federal Regulatory Resources

The federal agencies of the US Government play an important role in implementing and enforcing the laws that Congress enacts relating to the delivery of health care services. ACNM actively works with these federal agencies to improve their understanding of midwifery services and the enforcement of existing laws.
