Boston, MA April 26th, 2019 – American College of Nurses-Midwives (ACNM) today announced an alliance with GE Healthcare to introduce to its members Vscan Extend handheld ultrasound technology from GE Healthcare through educational webinars and training. This will expand access to innovative technology to certified nurse midwives and certified midwives where their licensing allows.

Vscan Extend™ from GE Healthcare is a handheld, pocket-sized ultrasound system that empowers users to make focused assessments and accelerate treatment decisions at the point of care. New easily accessed apps are available and designed to help users diagnose confidently and improve productivity easily. Vscan Extend also allows users to measure fluid levels right at the bedside, assess the fetal position and presentation, and visualize the fetal heart. With Color Doppler, the user can easily view the three-vessel umbilical cord.
