Access to Equity in Midwifery Education Study

We want to hear from preceptors and faculty members about diversity, equity, and inclusion in midwifery programs.

American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) is conducting a study to explore the experiences of preceptors and faculty related to diversity, equity, inclusivity, and belonging in midwifery programs. You can help us
understand the factors that influence the recruitment, retention, and graduation of students of color in certified midwife (CM)/certified nurse-midwife (CNM) educational programs by participating in an interview.

If you are a preceptor:
You are eligible if you: (1) Are 18 years of age or older, (2) Are an AMCB-Certified certified midwife or certified nurse-midwife, and (3) precept or have precepted in the last 12 months students in a CM/CNM program


If you are a faculty member:
You are eligible if you: (1) Are 18 years of age or older, (2) Are an AMCB-Certified certified midwife or certified nurse-midwife, and (3) Are a faculty member in a CM/CNM program (you are primarily involved with classroom educational content/labs).


If you are a student:
You are eligible if you: (1) Are 18 years of age or older, (2) Are a student or recent graduate (within 12 months) of CM/CNM program and (3) Identify as a person of color.


The interviews will last approximately 45-60 minutes hours. Participation is voluntary, your responses will be kept confidential, and all data will be reported in aggregate.

All participants will receive a $50 electronic gift card as a thank you for your time. Your contact information will not be linked to your interview responses.
