Strategic Priorities

Until now, ACNM has developed a comprehensive set of strategic priorities every two years; the most recent exercise spanned the 2005-2007 period. In 2007, ACNM began to re-evaluate our process and format for articulating our strategic priorities and how we use them to achieve tangible advocacy goals for our members. Throughout 2008, the organization will undertake an organization-wide discussion of the strategic issues facing our members and ACNM as an organization. We will identify a short list of high-priority issues that we will address strategically over the long-term, through coordinated staff and volunteer effort.

In the interim, for the 2008 budget year, ACNM has adopted an interim approach of using the following priority-setting criteria to focus staff and volunteer efforts for the coming year:

  • Increase ACNM Financial Strength
  • Increase Demand for CNM/CM Services
  • Reduce barriers to practice
  • Enhance the clinical and business practices of our members
  • Increase the supply of CNMs/CMs
