ACNM and A.C.N.M. Foundation Embark on National Public Relations Campaign
News Release:
ACNM Selects Jones Public Affairs As Public Relations Firm (April 22, 2008)
ACNM is embarking on a national initiative to strengthen and enhance the stature of midwifery in the United States.
The project is supported by a $15,000 seed grant awarded by the A.C.N.M. Foundation Board of Trustees in October 2007. The Foundation is organizing additional fundraising through its Public Education Project (PEP) national fundraising campaign.
The overarching goal of the project is to educate the public and increase the visibility and demand for midwifery services. ACNM
members have identified lack of consumer knowledge as the greatest barrier to acceptance and growth of our profession. At this time when health care reform is so seriously needed, midwives must be part of the solution and the public must know the scope and benefits of our service.
According to the A.C.N.M. Foundation, “The PEP will support every midwife in America; therefore we need every midwife to donate! We ask every midwife and future midwives to join hands to give whatever she or he can. Together, our individual contributions can make an overwhelming difference to our profession. It is our strong plea that you give to the Foundation to the highest amount you are able. We need to continue our traditional scholarships and other awards as we aggressively raise the funds necessary for this special campaign. If you have questions about how donations can be allocated please contact the Foundation office at (240) 485-1850.”
Stay tuned for updates on this important initiative.
