Carolyn Gegor CNM, MS, FACNM

Carolyn L. Gegor, CNM, MS, FACNM received her BS in nursing from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, and her MS in nursing and midwifery from Georgetown University School of Graduate Studies. Ms. Gegor is currently Program Director of the Georgetown University Graduate Nurse-Midwifery Program and Assistant Professor at the Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies. She has also held academic appointments at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Boston University School of Public Health, and the Frontier School of Midwifery. Among her numerous professional publications is her co-editorship of the 4th edition of the internationally recognized midwifery text, Varney's Midwifery. Ms. Gegor's professional contributions to the ACNM are numerous, and include the following: chair and board member of Service Directors' Network, member of the Clinical Practice Committee, and chair and member of the Professional Liability Section of the Division of Standards and Practice. She also has the distinction of being the founder and past chair of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. From 2004-2006, Ms. Gegor served as Trustee and Secretary of the A.C.N.M. Foundation, Inc., and since 2007 has served as President.
