Lisa received her master's in Public Health and doctorate in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, and her master's of science in nursing and nurse-midwifery education at the University of Utah. Lisa has held academic appointments at Johns Hopkins University, Georgetown University, and Boston University; she has also held a number of clinical, administrative and leadership positions in nursing, midwifery and public health. Lisa's professional contributions to the ACNM are numerous, and include the following: founding chair of the Division of Research, director of the landmark study Nurse-Midwifery Care for Vulnerable Populations in the U.S., member of the Governing Board of the Division of Accreditation, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health, and trustee of the A.C.N.M. Foundation, Inc. She is also the 1995 recipient of ACNM's prestigious Hattie Hemschemeyer Award. As principal and senior consultant of The Hutchinson Dyer Group in Cambridge, MA, Lisa provides consultation to the A.C.N.M. Foundation, Inc.
