Executive Office


Katrina Holland

Chief Executive Officer


As ACNM’s Chief Executive Officer, Katrina works in partnership with the Board of Directors and advances the mission by providing oversight to ensure the implementation of ACNM’s strategic plan. She leads the national office staff team and ensures that staffing expertise and organizational resources are effectively aligned to enhance ACNM’s growth and ensure its sustainability. Bringing over 20 years of association leadership experience across the healthcare, legal and tax professions, past senior staff positions include stints at National Association of Enrolled Agents, the International Association for the Study of Pain and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Katrina spent the first half of her career living in Chicago, before returning to her roots of East Coast living. She is originally from North Carolina and she currently resides with her family in Maryland.

Jewel Saunders

Executive Assistant


Jewel Saunders currently serves as the Executive Assistant, working closely with the CEO on activities such as coordinating ACNM board meetings, managing the ACNM volunteer contact list, organizing meetings, conference calls, as well as appointments. Jewel supports the Nominating Committee in facilitating the annual elections process as well as supports the Awards Committee during the annual awards ceremony process. Her non-profit career spans 17 years working for organizations such as American Nurses Association, American Institute for Cancer Research, and American Society for Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition.

She received her Bachelor’s in Business Management from the University of the District of Columbia. She has received certificates for completing courses such as Basic Supervision, Project Management, and Effective Communication Skills. Jewel currently resides in Washington, DC.

Advocacy & Government Affairs


Amy Kohl

Director, Advocacy & Government Affairs


Amy M. Kohl is ACNM’s Director of Advocacy and Government Affairs. In this capacity, Amy is responsible for leading the development and implementation of ACNM’s federal and state policy agenda in alignment with ACNM’s strategic plan. A core focus of her work is identifying and maximizing opportunities for integration of midwives and midwifery-led care models throughout the care continuum. Prior to joining the ACNM, Amy spent over a decade with the Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA) lobbying for policy issues impacting our nation’s medical products supply chain and distribution channels. Prior to joining HIDA, Amy worked for a state government relations consulting firm and also spent time working for a national political campaign committee.

With 20 years of experience in national health policy and state affairs, Amy also has a personal connection to ACNM’s mission, as midwives in Washington, D.C. attended the births of both of her children. A native of the Northern Neck of Virginia, Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Victoria Washburn

Administrative Support Specialist


Victoria Washburn joined the American College of Nurse-Midwives in 2022 as the Administrative Support Specialist. She is responsible for providing day-to-day and project support to Amy Kohl, ACNM's Director of Advocacy & Government Affairs and Karen Jefferson, ACNM's Director of Midwifery Practice. Additionally, she works directly with several stakeholder committees as a staff liaison and coordinator.

Victoria hails from the great state of North Carolina (Go Tar Heels!) and is a proud American University alumna (Go Eagles!) holding a degree in International Studies. Outside of the office, Victoria is an avid reader and book collector. She has a deep love for the classics, mythology, and ancient history.


Education & Events


Nicole Drummond

Director, Education & Events


Nicole Drummond is the ACNM Director of Education. In this role, Nicole is tasked with implementing the educational strategy, overseeing the educational portfolio, as well as education committees. In addition, Nicole provides overall guidance and direction for various components of the educational offerings. Nicole is a veteran educational professional and has implemented educational strategies and built educational portfolios for several medical specialty societies over the years, including the American Urological Association and the American Psychiatric Association.

Nicole joins ACNM with almost twenty years of experience working for medical specialty societies. It has been a passion project, a life calling, and simply the best career. Nicole enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.

Derica Clarke

Events Manager


Derica Clarke is the Events Manager for the American College of Nurse Midwives, executing the association’s events and online education. She received her Bachelor of Science in Tourism & Hospitality Management from Norfolk State University and served six years in the US Army, where she became dedicated to advocacy and leadership. She then transitioned into the association industry, where she began her hospitality career as a radio personality. During that time, she hosted and planned large-scale events such as fundraisers, galas, and outdoor festivals. After relocating to Washington, DC, Derica became a Project Manager for International Meetings and began planning 4,000+ attendee international & domestic conventions, small meetings, and webinars in countries such as Austria and France.

She received the 2019 Smart Woman in Meetings Rising Star Award; is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA)’s ‘20 in Their Twenties’ Class of 2020, and is currently serving in her second year as an ambassador for Meetings Mean Business (MMB).

Finance & Operations


Marc Rucker

Vice President, Finance & Operations


Marc Rucker, MBA, CAE is the Vice President of Finance and Operations for the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) overseeing the finance department, IT department, and operations of ACNM to include Human Resources. Marc has three staff members on the Finance and Operations team that deliver monthly financial reports to the Finance & Audit Committee (FAC).

Marc has over twenty years experience in the Finance industry having worked in both corporate and non-profit sectors. Originally from Massachusetts, he currently resides in Virginia.

June Ewan

Accounting Manager


June Ann Ewan, MBA is the Accounting Manager for the American College of Nurse-Midwives. June manages all things financial, including the monthly financial close, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and the Annual Audit. June has worked in the Non-For-Profit sector for over 20 years.

She received her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Although she has a passion for Accounting, she spends her weekends teaching children. 

Global and Domestic Development


Sadaf Chaudhry, MD, MSPH

Director, Global and Domestic Development


Sadaf serves as ACNM's Director of Global and Domestic Development, but she is also a physician and has worked on diverse public health programs globally, with donors worldwide including EU,USAID, PEPFAR, CDC and organizations like Plan International, The Asia Foundation, Islamic Relief UK, and Society for General Internal Medicine (SGIM), American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL). Over the years, Sadaf has traveled extensively across Asia, Africa, Europe and Americas. Sadaf is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, has working knowledge of Punjabi and Sindhi, and can also read and write Arabic. 

She considers herself a global citizen blending into cultures and people around the globe. Sadaf moved from Pakistan to the US in 2007 and lives in Northern Virginia. She has a 13 year old son who loves to play soccer and tell stories.

Gina Graham

Manager, Global and Domestic Development


Gina Graham is ACNM's Manager, Global and Domestic Development, focusing on grant management and new grant development. Gina comes to ACNM after six years as an independent consultant in grant development where she earned $1.7 million in grants for small and large non-profits in the health care and social service arenas. Prior to consulting, Gina worked at GE Healthcare, developing global grant opportunities in maternal and infant care technology for low-resource settings, and spent time in India, Thailand, and Vietnam. Prior to GE, Gina worked for a non-profit healthcare delivery system serving eastern Wisconsin and led a cross-system grant development team that secured $8.5 million in grants and contracts.

Gina has a BA in Sociology from the University of Denver and is in process of completing an Executive MPH from the University of Minnesota. After living in Wisconsin for 30 years, Gina has recently returned to her home state of Colorado where she resides in the Denver area. She enjoys gardening, camping, traveling, and spending time with her three adult children and three grandchildren.

Marketing & Communications


Natalia Kimrey

Associate Director, Marketing & Communications


As a newcomer to the association space, Natalia brings a fresh perspective for her role as Associate Director of Marketing & Communications. She oversees marketing, communications, branding, and all integrated campaigns across ACNM, supporting the vision for the growth, sustainability, and diversity of midwifery. Previously working in Florida state government, she managed data-driven, traffic safety campaigns for the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles and Department of Transportation, earning national and international recognition from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators.

Natalia earned her degree in Marketing and Risk Management, with a certificate in Hispanic Marketing Communication, from the Florida State University. Originally from Boca Raton, Florida, she is a new Maryland resident with her husband and two daughters (caught by midwives!), where they enjoy visiting new restaurants and parks together.

Yisela Contreras

Communications Coordinator


As a certified full-spectrum doula, Yisela joins ACNM's Marketing & Communications team with educated perspectives from both the birth and communications worlds. Her creative oral and written communication skills and persuasive rhetoric in both English and Spanish, supports ACNM and its mission. As the proud daughter of hardworking Dominican and Panamanian immigrants, Yisela has 14 years of professional working experience that began at the age of thirteen.  After relocating to Maryland, this native Philadelphian continued her work in communications through another association before joining the ACNM team.

Yisela earned her undergraduate degree in Public Relations with minors in Business Management and English, from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. She plans to achieve her master’s and eventually doctoral degrees here in Maryland, and is working on certifications to become a childbirth educator, perineal steam facilitator, and meditation instructor. She is a loud and proud United States Marine wife (Oorah!) and bunny mom. She loves plants, swimming, crocheting, making waist beads, trying new food, and most importantly, birth work!

Membership Development


Michael Hamilton

Director, Membership Development


Michael is a twenty year veteran of association management with a focus on delivering high-value member experience by centering member perspective and needs in both strategy and operations. During his twenty year career, Michael has worked primarily for professional societies that support healthcare and health professionals. At ACNM he oversees the membership experience, which includes customer service, membership operations and the development of recruitment and retention strategies.

An avid theater-goer, Michael never misses a chance to take advantage of the cultural opportunities in Washington, DC.

Anisa Yusuf

Membership and Affiliate Specialist


Anisa Yusuf joined ACNM in 2016 and serves as the Membership and Affiliate Specialist. She is the point of contact for Affiliate Leaders and works closely with the Affiliate Development & Support Committee in facilitating on-boarding for newly elected officers, oversees the administrative & financial maintenance of affiliates’ and supports related workshops at the ACNM Annual Meeting & Exhibition. Anisa has been a dedicated professional in the Association industry for 20 years, supporting Membership & Database Administration in healthcare, hospitality, architecture and legal organizations.

Anisa is fluent in English, Italian, Somali, Swahili, and French (the latter at an intermediate level) and periodically works on independent translation/interpreting projects. She’s also a television/film enthusiast and is often called on by her colleagues for movie recommendations.

Samantha Fleischer

Membership Coordinator


Samantha joined ACNM in 2022 and serves as the Membership Coordinator. She is the point of contact for ACNM members and supports membership operations, customer service, and database management. Samantha previously worked in nonprofit consulting and fundraising.

She lives in Washington, DC and enjoys playing board games and traveling with friends and family.

Midwifery Practice


Karen Jefferson, CM, DM, FACNM

Director of Midwifery Practice


Karen Jefferson, CM, DM, FACNM, is the Director, Midwifery Practice for the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She is
ACNM's resource on midwifery practice, working with government affairs and domestic development to advance the profession. She works closely with the team to carry out domestic grants, acts as a liaison to stakeholder groups, and supports the volunteers in the Division of Midwifery Advancement and Division of Research.

She comes to ACNM as a full-scope midwifery practice owner for 17 years, and a recent stint as program coordinator for the doctorate in midwifery at the Midwifery Institute at Jefferson. This position is Karen’s opportunity to merge all her interests: midwifery workforce, education, practice and advocacy.

Stormee Johnson

Program Manager, Access to Equity in Midwifery Education Project


Stormee received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology & Sociology and Public Health and graduated in 2020 from Emory University with a Master of Public Health degree focusing on behavioral, social, and health education sciences. Stormee is passionate about maternal and child health and healthcare accessibility for low-income and minority individuals. In her previous roles, she has worked on projects focusing on decreasing maternal mortality among black women in Georgia and vaccine equity for minority populations both domestically and internationally.

Stormee is a new mom and enjoys spending time with her family and reading whenever she has the chance.
