The Regional Award for Excellence honors one CNM or CM from each region during the regional meetings at the ACNM Annual Meeting.
To nominate a colleague, simply make sure that the midwife you nominate meets the criteria below, fill out this form and send it to your regional representative.
Along with the form, nominator's are requested to include two letters of endorsement from ACNM members who meet the criteria for nominators and a current CV of the nominee.
Nominations will be collected and a ballot will appear in Quickening.
Winners of the Regional Award for Excellence will be notified of their award prior to the 2009 Annual Meeting.

Criteria
Nominees for the Regional Award for Excellence must be:
An ACNM member
Able to demonstrate a past or present outstanding contribution to midwifery
Able to fulfill one or more of the following categories:
Exemplify the ideals of midwifery to the community
Serve as a role model for other midwives in the community
Be the leader in the establishment of a midwifery practice
Establish a unique type of practice
Serve as a leader in the community on midwifery policy, legislation, education or research (Note: Past award recipients are not eligible to win again.)
Those who nominate midwives for the Regional Award for Excellence must:
Be an ACNM member living in the same region as the midwife they nominate
