The Department of Professional Practice and Health Policy provides leadership in the development of resources for the ACNM membership related to professional practice issues. The department also has responsibility for the oversight and conduct of national and international advocacy on health policy and professional practice issues, under the direction of the Executive Director and Board of Directors. As the top staff position in the department, reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director is a leader within ACNM who maintains a broad understanding of all issues related to professional CNM/CM practice and uses this knowledge to manage activities within the department at the national office by performing the following duties personally or through other subordinate employees. Policy Intern

The American College of Nurse-Midwives, the oldest women's health organization in the nation, is seeking an intern to assist with our legislative and regulatory initiatives related to midwifery and maternal child health issues. Because of the nature of the work involved, successful candidates must be able to work at least two days per week.
