Lorrie Kaplan

Lorrie joined ACNM as Executive Director in May 2007 after 25 years in health policy, advocacy, communications, publications, education, and association management. Lorrie believes passionately in the value and importance of midwifery care in the United States and globally. As a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Paraguay she specialized in maternal and child health, partnering with a rural auxiliary midwife. In 1989, she and her husband Bob had a joyous experience with midwifery for the birth of their second child. Lorrie became a Certified Association Executive (CAE) in 2009.
