Clare LynamDirector of Communications
Clare Lynam comes to ACNM from Powell Tate, the Washington office of Weber Shandwick, a strategic communications and public affairs agency. As a senior vice president at Powell Tate, Clare was responsible for developing and executing campaigns for a variety of corporate, federal, nonprofit, trade association, and coalition clients. She worked for organizations from the health care, education, technology, and defense industries, to the financial services and insurance sectors. Prior to joining Powell Tate, Clare served as the Alaska Press Secretary for the former Senator Frank Murkowski (R-AK) working on both Capitol Hill and in his Anchorage office. Clare has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Advertising from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
As Director of Communications Clare will take a lead role in maximizing the visibility of ACNM and its members by directing the organization’s communications, media relations, and marketing activities; she will be responsible for the overall ACNM communications budget, the supervision of 3.5 FTEs, and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. She will advise the CEO and Board of Directors on all issues related to internal and external communications, managing and overseeing ACNM websites, print and electronic publications (except for the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health), and social media channels.
