"Oh, You Want to Talk? I'll Get a Midwife."

When my fluid was leaking with my first daughter (38 weeks) and the doctor wanted to immediately induce me even though I was fine, the baby was fine, the monitors were fine, we said, "Well, can we talk about it?" The doctor replied, "Oh, you want to talk? Sure. I'll get you a midwife." At that point, I never looked back. If a doctor can't be bothered to move their diplomas out of the way to SPEAK TO ME before giving me a ton of drugs, no thanks. I'll take the midwife every time. (But I still get the epidural!)
