Hello fellow midwives, I wanted to ask how many of you are screening for ureaplasma on Pap's in pregnancy? I am seeing Ureaplasma show up several times on my NOB Pap's and the physician treats the pt with Azithromycin. I have read that there can be an association between preterm birth, stillbirth, chorio and colonisation of Ureaplasma in pregnancy, so it seems appropriate. However, I was not taught about treating Ureaplasma in school just 2 yrs ago. Any thoughts would be appreciated, Lisa Malmquist, CNM.
