Affiliate Finances

The national office collects affiliate dues along with ACNM national membership dues.  The dues collected each month will be remitted back to the affiliate on the 20th of the following month.  Once ACNM remits the dues, affiliates are responsible for any subdivision of dues to chapters according to their bylaws. The remit report is available on the Affiliate Portal.  The Treasurer is encouraged to run the remit report monthly to balance the remit report against the bank statement and to keep abreast of the members that are current in their dues. 

The Affiliate Annual Financial Disclosure Reporting Form for 2016 should be completed by every affiliate and returned to Anisa Yusuf at ayusuf@acnm.org no later than March 31, 2017.

Affiliate Budget

Each affiliate is encouraged to have an annual budget to track income and expenses.  This will help in completing the Annual Financial Disclosure Report and completing the IRS Form 990. 


Affiliate Taxes

File IRS Form 990-N: You will need your Employer Identification Number (EIN).

Form 990-N, Electronic Notice (e-Postcard) for Tax-Exempt Organizations not required to File Form 990 or Form 990EZ, is used by small, tax-exempt organizations for annual reporting and can only be submitted electronically.  In 2016, 990-N filers will be required to complete a short, one-time registration before submitting their electronic form to IRS.gov.

Affiliate Dues

If your affiliate would like to begin collecting dues or would like to change the amount of dues collected, please complete the ACNM Affiliate Dues Notification form. 

It is recommended that all affiliates set up a bank account at a national bank, so as the treasures change, the bank account does not need to.  However, if you need to change banks, please submit the ACNM Dues Remittance form so ACNM has the information to be able to remit the affiliate dues to the affiliate.

Liability Insurance for Affiliates

ACNM is pleased to announce that Comprehensive General Liability (CGL) insurance coverage is provided to all ACNM affiliates at no cost through the National Organizationís policy with The Hartford Insurance Company. Our Hartford policy meets the needs of both our Affiliates and the National Organization. However, please note, the policy does NOT cover special events the affiliates may have, including 5K walk, etc. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact ACNM's insurance representative Althea Jacques-Ireland (aireland@lyceum.com or 240-252-2035).
