CCA Program Objectives

The objectives of the CCA program are:

1. To evaluate the continued maintenance of contemporary knowledge and abilities required to function safely as a CNM/CM.
2. To provide CNMs/CMs with the opportunity to demonstrate that their level of achievement of competence meets a national   standard.
3. To provide CNMs/CMs with a variety of methods for the demonstration of competency.
4. To assist CNMs/CMs in providing documentation of appropriate credential maintenance to state licensing bodies.
5. To foster the development of methods of competency assessment that evaluate psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains of nurse-midwifery practice.
