Dear Colleague:
The National and Local Program Committees of the American College of Nurse-Midwives are delighted to welcome you to Washington, DC and the 55th ACNM Annual Meeting & Exposition. Each year we have the privilege of coming together to update our clinical skills and knowledge, share experiences, celebrate our accomplishments, and immerse ourselves in the art and heart of midwifery.
This year's program features an excellent selection of quality continuing education sessions, plus a special focus on international midwifery, the licensure and political issues that affect the practice of midwifery, and how to be a successful advocate for change. As our nation debates health care reform, the ACNM Lobby Day offers us a timely opportunity to meet with our elected leaders to discuss the role of midwives in the provision of health care for women and their families.
This is my last year as Chair of the National Program Committee. I'd like to thank the ACNM membership, staff, student pages, National and Local Program Committee members (past and present) and other volunteers who have dedicated their time and talents to make the ACNM Annual Meetings a success.
It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as the Program Committee Chair. I look forward to welcoming each of you to Washington, DC.
