Midwives of Color Committee
The Midwives of Color Committee recruits and retains persons of diverse ethnic/cultural backgrounds to the profession of midwifery, provides educational preparation to the ACNM Membership, which will develop respect for cultural variations, and increases awareness and responsiveness among ACNM members to maternal/child health care issues affecting people of color. explaining MOCC’s and the Midwives of Color-Watson Scholarship’s history and
origins
Health Disparity Subcommittee: Working on a health disparity educational session for ACNM
Convention in Long Beach, California
Mentoring Subcommittee: Has established a
national mentoring program for student midwives of color via recruitment of
midwives. Presently has received IRB approval on a mentor/mentee evaluation
which will be launched in 2012. If you would like to become a midwifery
