Director of Midwifery Practice, Education & Global Outreach (MPEGO)Position Summary
The American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Midwifery Practice, Education & Global Outreach (MPEGO). This individual will direct activities in the MPEGO Department at the ACNM National Office, located in Silver Spring, MD, by leading our team that develops and exercises leadership in the areas of midwifery practice, education and global outreach consistent with the strategic plan of the ACNM; leads and develops staff associated with this area; coordinates activities of the department’s related volunteer infrastructure; develops, executes and manages grant resources in carrying out domestic and global work in midwifery; and coordinates the availability of resources for member assistance and organization knowledge bases.
The ideal candidate is a CNM/CM, with masters degree, DrPH or PhD preferred, with at least five years’ relevant professional experience in leadership, management, professional advocacy and representation, communications, and clinical practice; with a demonstrated commitment to women’s health and an ability to effectively present and advocate for midwifery and its interests before and within a variety of stakeholders.
