Director of Global Outreach, Department of Midwifery Practice, Education and Global Outreach (MPEGO)Position Summary
The American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) seeks qualified candidates for the position of Director of Global Outreach within the ACNM’s Department of Midwifery Practice, Education and Global Outreach (MPEGO). Reporting to the MPEGO Director and located at the ACNM national office in Silver Spring, MD, this person will direct activities for global outreach and public health strategic to the ACNM. Personally or through subordinate employees and consultants, the individual will develop strategies, budgets and systems of accountability for projects funded by federal and privately financed grants relating to midwifery, women’s and maternal health in countries outside the United States; develop and manage relationships with outside organizations appropriate to the global outreach activities of ACNM; and engages in business development to support global grants to ACNM pertinent to the organization’s mission.
Qualifications include a CNM/CM credential required; a master’s degree, DrPH or PhD preferred; and five or more years’ experience demonstrated in leadership, management, global outreach, global outreach grants development, public health, health systems and quality improvement, clinical practice, and project management. Previous experience must demonstrate a commitment to women’s health and an ability to achieve tangible public health outcomes.
