Job Title: Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Midwifery
Overall Purpose: To operate effectively as part of a team of academic, technical and administrative colleagues to facilitate learning in the University College and in linked practice areas to the highest quality through lectures, tutorials, laboratory, or other supervised practicum and counseling.
Main duties and responsibilities: Teaching and Learning
Lecturers are expected to contribute to teaching and learning at undergraduate levels and where appropriate on short/professional courses, through:-
a) Planning and delivery of teaching to pre and post qualifying
Midwives, nurses and other health professionals;
b) Contributing to the delivery of taught modules through lectures,
seminars, tutorials and other supervisory and coaching methods;
c) Undertake reasonable supervision of undergraduate research projects/dissertations;
d) Contributing to the design, preparation and development of Module
e) Undertaking monitoring and evaluation procedures for all courses which includes setting and marking assignments and examination papers and attending assessment boards;
f) To undertake personal research and/or scholarly activities contributing
to the School's and University's research profile;
g) Liaise closely with teaching, technical and administrative staff to ensure quality teaching.
h) To undertake any other duties in the University College (e.g. Duty
Tutor, staff recruitment etc.) as shall be reasonably requested.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications with the relevant working experience:
· M.Phil. Midwifery/Nursing
· M.Sc. Midwifery/Nursing
