Affiliate Governance Resources
ACNM is pleased to announce that as of 2012, all affiliates have been approved. Each affiliate has a Board of Directors, a set of bylaws and other governing policies.
Governance Policies and Templates
Beginning in 2008, the IRS form 990 (the non-profit tax return) requires non-profit organizations to report whether certain written policies and documentation is in place. The following policies have been adopted by the ACNM national organization and affiliates. Review of these documents should be part of the new officer orientation. New officers need to review all of these policies and sign the Policy Acknowledgement Form. The national office does not need the form; it should be housed with the affiliate.
Authorized Spokespersons Policy
Every affiliate is required to sign the Affiliate Agreement every three years. You will be notified when your affiliate's agreement is due for review. A copy of the Affiliate Agreement template can be found here.
Board GovernanceACNM has developed a presentations to help new affiliate leaders understand their new role and responsibilities that come with serving on the Board of Directors. This, too, should be part of the new leader orientation, along with a review of the policies.
