ACNM Welcomes Amy Kohl as New Director of Advocacy & Government Affairs
The ACNM’s new Director of Advocacy & Government Affairs Amy Kohl joined our national office team on April 11. With so much at stake for women’s health and midwifery in national and state policy environments, she has hit the ground running.
Her first duties include getting to know the ACNM national office staff team and the ACNM’s federal lobbyist Patrick Cooney; taking briefs on ACNM policy priorities for women’s health; meeting the ACNM president and the chairs of the Government Affairs and State Government Affairs Committees and the Midwives PAC; and joining preparations already under way for the ACNM Annual Meeting in Chicago May 21-25. “I’m delighted to bring my experience in government affairs toward midwives’ incredible mission,” said Kohl. “Every woman deserves a midwife!”
With more than 15 years’ experience in national health policy and state affairs, Kohl also brings personal experience with midwives to her new post: Midwives in Washington, DC, delivered both of her children. ACNM is delighted to welcome Amy Kohl, who can be reached at [email protected] and 240-485-1806. State leaders with questions on government affairs topics should continue to email them to [email protected].
