ACNM Advocacy to AMCB

ACNM believes that as this change moves forward, the critical question is and will continue to be how to enable CNMs and CMs no longer in clinical practice to continue to be identified as midwives. How best to answer this question is a challenge not just for AMCB, but for all of us. The final decision will be AMCB's. However, ACNM is committed to engaging our members on this issue and, if possible, forming a consensus recommendation to AMCB that responds to the current realities of health care, while also preserving the notion that once a midwife, always a midwife.
